ABOUT JSS
With the aim to provide vocational education and skill development programmes to non-literate, neo-literates and the persons having rudimentary level of educations belonging to disadvantaged section of the society the Association started the project namely, Jan Shikshan Sansthan-Paschim Medinipur at Nazrganj, Midnapore Town, District-Paschim Mdinipur in the year 2006. The Main objective of this project is to improve the occupational skill and technical Knowledge of the neo-literates and the trainees and to raise their efficiency and increase their ability in all respect. The project is funded by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Directorate of Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Govt. of India.
OJJECTIVE OF JSS
- To enhance occupational skills and technical knowledge of the neo-literates, semi literates and illiterates.
- To raise efficiency, increase productive ability and enhance their livelihood opportunities.
- To identify and assist traditional skills in the district through skilling/upskilling.
- To create master trainers who are eligible to work in a department/agency of skill development through training and orientation programmes.
- To collaborate and coordinate with other departments/agencies who are working in the field of skill development.
- To widen the range of knowledge and understand the social, economic and political systems and create environmental awareness.
- To promote national values and align with national programmes.
- To promote self-employment and facilitate financial support, including loans for the target group through linkage with credit and consortium membership.
